Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- The United States has made "significant progress" in combating terrorist threats to the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Saturday after meeting with the Afghan president and the minister of finance.
Napolitano is in Afghanistan to discuss progress made in securing the region.
"The Obama administration remains fully committed to combating threats of terrorism in Afghanistan," Napolitano said in a statement released Saturday।
